TULE NAUTTIMAAN SAIMAAN JÄRVILUONNOSTA JA KUULEMAAN ASTUVANSALMEN KALLIOMAALUSTEN IKIAIKAINEN TARINA! Tapaamme Astuvansalmen parkkipaikalla (Suurlahdentie 2039), josta lähdemme rauhallisesti polkua pitkin kohti kalliomaalauksia. Perillä olemme noin tunnin kävelyn jälkeen ja siirrymme 6000 vuotta vanhan kalliotaiteen äärelle. Upeat Pohjois-Euroopan suurimmat kalliomaalaukset kertovat ikiaikaista kiehtovaa tarinaansa monin erin kuvin. Samalla opas kertoo maalausten ja Saimaan syntytarinaa.

Tämä retki sopii kaikille peruskuntoisille. Metsäpolkua pitkin perille kävelee vajaan tunnin. Matkan varrelta löytyy sekä nousua että laskua ja polku on paikoin juurakkoinen/kivinen. Myös lapset ovat tervetulleita mukaan.

Opastuskielet suomi ja englanti. Mukaasi tarvitset keliin sopivat vaatteet, hyvät kengät ja juomavettä. Halutessasi voit tilata mukaan myös käsityönä valmistetut sesonginmukaiset lähiruokaeväät, jotka nautitaan maalauksilla.

Experience the nature of Saimaa in the middle of an ancient art exhibition and hear the fascinating story of the rock paintings!

Hike starts at the Astuvansalmi parking lot (Suurlahdentie 2039), from where we calmly set off along the path towards the rock paintings. Route goes through the forest and it takes about an hour to get there and explore the 6000-year-old rock art. The magnificent Northern Europe’s largest rock paintings tell their ancient fascinating story with many different images. At the same time, the guide tells the birth story of the paintings and Saimaa.

This trip is suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness. The walk along the forest trail takes just under an hour. The route includes both ascents and descents, and the trail is occasionally rocky or covered with tree roots. Children are also welcome to join. You need clothes suitable for the weather, good shoes and drinking water to go.

You can order handmade seasonal packed lunch using local ingredients for extra fee (stuffed bread roll and sweet pie).
