Uhkua's services for cyclists
Uhkua is proud to be part of the Welcome Cyclist network. Whether you’re travelling by touring bike, gravel bike or e-bike, you’re warmly welcome to stop by, stay overnight, enjoy a sauna or simply refill your water bottles before continuing your journey.
At Uhkua, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stop. Your bike can be stored safely, and you’ll have access to basic tools for minor repairs. You can wash your bike, recharge your e-bike battery, refill your water bottles and even wash your cycling clothes by hand while relaxing in the sauna.
Uhkua is located along the Green Gold Cultural Road, one of the official scenic routes of South Savo. Quiet forest roads, beautiful lake landscapes and charming villages make this one of the most enjoyable cycling areas in the Lake Saimaa region.
The famous Puumala Archipelago Route is only 15 km from Uhkua, making us an ideal stop before or after your ride. Along the way, you’ll discover scenic viewpoints, local attractions and welcoming village services.
Stay overnight on our unique floating raft cabin, relax in a traditional Finnish sauna and enjoy seasonal food prepared from local ingredients. Overnight guests can pre-order breakfast and dinner baskets or packed lunches. We also prepare meals for groups by advance booking.
Whether you’re cycling for a few hours or exploring Lake Saimaa for several days, we’re always happy to help you plan your journey and share our favourite local tips.

Nature accommodation
We offer experiential and eco-friendly accommodation services in the tranquillity of nature. Take a little break on your journey, enjoy gentle steam baths, and sleep well on Uhkuan’s floating boards on the waves of Saimaa. If desired, we also deliver breakfast and dinner baskets to the rafts.
