Nature accomodation
We offer experiential and ecological accommodation services in the tranquillity of nature. Take gentle steam baths and enjoy a good night’s sleep on floating rafts on the waves of Saimaa. A nature-oriented and simple yet incredibly comfortable accommodation experience creates an opportunity to break away from the everyday and let nature take you away.
The ferries are located in Nikinsalmi, Ristiina [map]. Access to the raft is via an old tarred rowboat, which also takes the guests a short distance to the sauna raft’s steam, of course using their own muscle power.
Pets are also welcome to stay! We do not charge a fee for pets.
ACCOMMODATION PRICE
1 day 240 € / entire ferry. MINIMUM RESERVATION 2 nights
The accommodation raft has a double bed (120 cm) and during the summer season, there is an option for an extra bed (1 person). The price for an extra bed is 30€.
The accommodation is insulated and warms up on cooler autumn evenings and in the crispness of early spring with the heat from the wood stove. An additional heat source, if necessary, is a gas heater.
THE ACCOMMODATION FERRY CAN BE BOOKED VIA EMAIL OR AIRBNB:
The price includes a welcome drink, the use of a sauna raft (self-heating), and a rowing boat during the rental period. The sauna is also rented out to others, and the sauna session time is agreed upon in advance if necessary.
Coffee and tea are included in the accommodation price. The cupboard contains coffee and a selection of teas from the local small roastery Kirjalan Paahtimo, as well as salt, pepper, sugar, honey, and oil. We also provide drinking water on the plate.
The accommodation raft has a gas refrigerator, gas stove, and gas grill for self-catering, as well as the necessary cooking and dining utensils. A compost toilet is available on the raft, and you can use a rowboat to get to the shore and sauna.
The ferry does not have electricity. So take a power bank with you to charge your devices.
You can also order nature program services or food on the ferry. Ask for more information about the contents of the breakfast and dinner baskets and the available activities. The price of the breakfast basket, consisting of local nature and farm delicacies, is €45 (for 2 people), and the price of the dinner basket is €65 (for 2 people).
You can leave the car at the sauna beach intersection during your stay. We will provide more detailed instructions as the accommodation date approaches. Public transportation does not go all the way, but if necessary, we can pick up guests from the Mikkeli travel center, Ristiina, or the Hurissalo junction, which can be reached by local bus. Sauna raft and old beach sauna
Take gentle steam baths on Uhkuan’s floating sauna raft on the waves of Saimaa or in the 200-year-old log sauna by the shore. Don’t forget the rental tent sauna! You can find more information at the Rental Office.
The saunas are located in Nikinsalmi, Ristiina [map]. Access to the ferry sauna is via an old tarred rowboat. In winter, the ferries are moored at the end of the pier, and the accommodation space that serves as a changing room can be heated if necessary. At the beach sauna, we sauna in the old-fashioned way, meaning there is no heating in the changing room.
The raft sauna is available for rent from May 1 to October 30, and the beach sauna from June 1 to September 30. Ask about availability at other times.
Rental agency
Renters of the canoes are required to be able to swim. The canoes are handed over at the address Suurlahdentie 3189 (Nikinsalmi / Ristiina). Other camping equipment can also be delivered elsewhere if necessary, according to the schedule of our other commitments. For separate deliveries, we charge a case-by-case delivery fee. Pick-up of equipment no earlier than 9 AM and return by 6 PM.
The renter agrees to return the equipment in the same condition it was in when rented and, if necessary, to compensate for any damages and defects incurred. The equipment will be inspected at the time of handover and return.
Equipment reservations via the contact form, email, or phone call. The rental fee is paid in advance using the payment information you receive via email, by invoice, or with a credit card at the time of rental. Contact us if you have any questions about the rental products or other camping gear.

The rental includes all the necessary kayaking equipment (paddle, life jacket, and waterproof phone pouch).
When renting, you will receive a brief equipment orientation. If you are going kayaking with your own group and you have no prior kayaking experience, it is recommended to book a one-hour equipment and technique introduction for 50 € per group along with the rental.

Snowshoes
– 10 pairs TSL -snowshoes. Sizes 217 (from 40 – to 100 kg) and 227 (from 70 – to 140 kg)
